MVNO MyKifayah launched in Malaysia, next is the UK and Indonesia.

Clixster Mobile Sdn Bhd launched its MVNO “MyKifayah” in Malaysia yesterday. Clixster aims to capture 50,000 subscribers by the third quarter of its first year of operation with the main segment being Malaysian students and expatriates.


MyKifayah offers a bundled with integrated funeral management services where each subscriber will be provided a coverage up to U$1649. Contributions from as low as U$0,75 a month will be automatically deducted from the subscriber's mobile account, whether prepaid or postpaid.

The scheme is open to Muslims and non-Muslims. For non-Muslims, the money will be handed over to the deceased's family upon death, as the service only provides funeral services for Muslims.

The MVNO has seven first-tier master key distributors (MKD), 33 second-tier MKDs and 6,000 outlets nationwide, and plans to increase its total outlets to 8,000 units by year-end.

Clixster will also introduce at least one new mobile application every month along with other creative services to compete with the 12 other MVNOs in Malaysia.

Co-founder & Executive Chairman, Dato’ Dr. Ir. Megat Radzman revealed that Clixster Mobile Sdn Bhd, will open its first overseas operation in the United Kingdom early next year. The MVNO plans to make London its hub as it seeks to tap into the European market.

"The plan is now 70 percent complete. We have registered our company there and is currently negotiating with a local telco on network infrastructure sharing," he said at the launch in Malaysia yesterday.

Indonesia 2Q 2014


Megat Radzman also revealed that Clixster will enter the Indonesian market in the 2.nd quarter of next year. Clixster Mobile Sdn Bhd will be partnering with the Indonesia Cooperative Council, which is similar to the business mechanism it is using in Malaysia by partnering the Angkasa Coop who has a total of 8.4 million members.

Clixster currently has 200,000 subscribers but aims to secure a total of 500,000 subscribers by year-end.
